Q & A's

1. What truth does Gatsby tell nick ?

Gatsby tell nick that he's aware of what other people think of him ( in his own house) and he just wasn't to clarify the rumors so Nick doesn't get the wrong idea. He tells Nick that he's a son of a wealthy family from the middle-west and is now the only remaining family member. He also told Nick that he was brought in America and studied at Oxford because it's family tradition. And he also told Nick that he served in the war, then later was promoted to major. And he showed Nick 2 pieces of evidence which were a piece of metal with a ribbon on in and a photograph of young men in blazers.

2. What's the truth Jordan tells Nick? Do you believe either one? Why or why not?

Jordon tell Nick about Daisy history life once she was engaged to tom and to now. Well on how Daisy had changed like her attitude/ expression. Jordan also mentioned that Daisy came to jordon asking who gatsby was at night, and Jordan describe him to her. Jordan said that " in the strangest voice that it must be the man she used to know." Then Jordan said she figured that gatsby was the officer in daisy white car. Later Nick figured that having Gatsby as a neighbor wasn't a coincidence but a set up of gatsby. Jordan then tells Nick that gatsby likes daisy and he just afraid to tell Nick and that if Nick can somehow help him meet daisy.

At first when I read Gatsby "truth" I figured he was telling the truth since he showed evidence to Nick. But then when Nick met Mr. Wolfshiem he told Nick that gatsby studied in oggsford college in England, but gatsby told Nick he studied in America in Oxford,  which indicates he's lying. Mr. Wolfshiem also mentioned that he's known gatsby for seven year. He also told Nick " ... Gatsby's very careful about women. He would never so much as look at a friends wife." 🤔
Also Nick after talking to Mr. Wolfshiem he saw Tom ( Daisys husband) and he tried to introduce him to gatsby but when he turned to look at gatsby he was gone. To be honest I would get why he lied since I mean Nick is related to Daisy so setting a good image for yourself  is something you'd want to do. And Jordan mentions gatsbys afraid that Nick might get offended by all this so he didn't say a thing to him about this. As for Jordan I belts he is tell the truth Gatsby used her so she would help him get his word out to Nick without him doing that since he's afraid to talk about that with Nick since he related to Daisy ( it would be awkward). So I believe Jordan but I find it hard to trust gatsby. It's like the boy who cried wolf ( the boy being gatsby)
